Snorkelling

Tobago has fringing reefs along most of the Caribbean coastline between Crown Point and Speyside where you can see a mix of hard and soft corals and an abundance of tropical reef fish. The most well known place to snorkel is Buccoo Reef where you can get a glass bottomed boat from Pigeon Point and snorkel the reef. Some of the best snorkelling on the island can be found at Angel Reef between in front of Goat Island at the northeastern end of the island.

Diving

Tobago offers year round diving in warm waters, good visibility and has spectacular dive sites. The nutrient rich Guyana current flows from Venezuela to the reefs lying off Tobago's shores allowing thriving fish populations, and attracting rays (including manta) and hammerhead sharks. Diving can be done from Crown Point in the South, or there are many dive sites accessible from Speyside and Charlotteville in the northeast, a two centre holiday is ideal for keen divers. Top dive sites include Mt Irvine Wall, Sisters and Keleston Drain.

Hiking

Hike the trail in the rainforest in the Main Ridge Forest Reserve where you will be rewarded with spectacular views and may see a variety of birdlife. We recommend a guided hike with a local guide that can inform you of the flora and fauna and help spot birds such as manakins, motmots, jacamars, birds of prey and maybe a glimpse of the White-tailed Sabrewing, a rare hummingbird that is endemic to Tobago. A variety of coastal trails can be hiked or there are various waterfalls that you can hike to including to Argyle Waterfall.

Watersports

Many hotels offer kayaks and stand up paddleboards for hire. At Pigeon Point in southern Tobago there are different watersports hire available, these include kayaking, stand up paddleboards, windsurfing and kite surfing. Kayak/SUP tours are available from Pigeon Point to the Bon Accord Lagoon, including a night paddle to see the bioluminescence.
